I am an alumnus of the University of Connecticut (UConn), where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Electrical Engineering. Through my collegiate journey, I became deeply immersed in the dynamic world of electronics, technology, and electrical and computer systems. My academic interests have been centered around exploring the fields of very large-scale integration (VLSI), field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), programmable logic circuits (PLCs), embedded systems, electronics, and microcontroller applications.
My fascination with engineering began in high school, where I was fortunate enough to be able to take three years of engineering courses. In these courses, the analytical and critical thinking skills I developed, coupled with year-end capstone projects, nurtured my love for engineering. When I was faced with the pivotal decision of choosing which specific engineering discipline I would study in college, my initial inclination was toward computer engineering. However, after much thought, I ended up deciding on electrical engineering as my major. I felt the field’s greater scope would allow me to grow and explore as I sorted out what I truly wanted to do in and beyond college.
My academics were complemented by several diverse leadership and research roles.
My first leadership position on campus was as the College of Engineering Senator in the University of Connecticut’s Undergraduate Student Government. In this role, I advocated for and represented engineering students and the undergraduate student body at large.
I also held leadership positions in several other organizations, which further enriched my college experience. Within the University of Connecticut’s Undergraduate Student Branch of the IEEE, I served as Secretary, Treasurer, and then Vice President. In these roles, I managed communications, documented organizational proceedings, contributed to financial oversight, and helped lead chapter initiatives. Contributing to the IEEE community has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my undergraduate career, as it allowed me to actively participate in the organization's activities, foster collaboration and networking among peers, and support a culture of innovation.
At the Electrical Insulation Research Center in the Institute of Materials Science, I worked as a Student Research Trainee, where I explored electrical engineering in both industrial and academic research contexts beyond my major and general education courses. This granted me the invaluable experience of learning directly from professors and graduate students in ways that are not normally open to the majority of students at the University, such as Independent Design Laboratories and Undergraduate Research courses that most students do not typically take advantage of.
In Huskies for Israel, I began as Vice President and Treasurer, where I worked on promoting awareness and understanding of Israeli culture and fostering dialogue within the university community. This position allowed me to combine my leadership and financial skills to ensure the success of the organization’s initiatives and events. In this capacity, I also led the preparation and submission of grant applications to secure funding for events and initiatives, further strengthening the organization’s capacity to engage the campus community. I later served as the organization’s President and Secretary, where I continued to advance its mission and oversee day-to-day operations, as well as serving as its representative to the University and student body.
As the Treasurer of UConn Roblox, an organization focused on creating a virtual campus experience for students, staff, and faculty, I supported the organization’s strategic planning while helping to provide an engaging platform for students to connect through their shared passion for gaming and the University of Connecticut. This resulted in an accessible virtual campus touring platform for prospective students to explore the UConn campus in an engaging and interactive way.
I also participated in several university committees and task forces aimed at advancing inclusivity and academic equity. Notably, I served on the Metanoia committee, where I contributed to the planning and execution of a university-wide event series focused on civil discourse. These experiences enabled me to collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and administrators, to review policy, support inclusive programming, and promote a more equitable and engaged campus environment, all the while elevating student voices.
My representation of the student body continued on the University Senate Curricula and Courses Committee and later the Enrollment Committee. In both of these roles, I contributed to policy discussions and decisions that shaped the university’s academic offerings and enrollment strategies, ensuring that student perspectives were actively represented in the development and implementation of curricular policies, course offerings, and institutional planning.
I further expanded my work in university governance by serving as the Parliamentarian of the University Senate, the Senate's officer responsible for ensuring the governance and procedural aspects of the university's highest legislative body were conducted in accordance with the University and University Senate’s By-laws. In this position, I ensured that meetings and decisions adhered to the university’s bylaws and procedural standards. I advised the Senate Moderator, Administrator, and Executive Committee on parliamentary issues and helped guide legislative discussion in alignment with the institution’s governance framework. This responsibility afforded me the opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the policies and direction of the university.
My engagement in student life also extended to UConn Hillel, where I served as Treasurer and Secretary. I helped organize events, support community building, and promote inclusivity. Building on this work, I also served as UConn Hillel’s Ex-Officio Senator, representing the organization in university-wide decision-making and providing cultural representation in student government.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I served as the Deputy Comptroller and Fiscal Manager for the Undergraduate Student Government. In this role, I oversaw the financial operations of the organization, managing biweekly payroll for over 50 employees, overseeing monthly bill payments and reimbursements, and coordinating purchasing with vendors and university departments. I crafted and presented the organization’s $2.38 million annual budget, which accounted for $1.76 million in revenue and $1.96 million in expenditures, and successfully stewarded a $355,000 surplus into the following fiscal year. This role strengthened my understanding of budgeting principles, financial compliance and policy, and strategic planning. It allowed me to apply my analytical thinking, technical, and leadership skills in a collaborative, high-responsibility environment. It also provided a unique opportunity to build the skill of communicating complex financial and technical concepts into clear guidance for student leaders and stakeholders across campus.
Beyond university and student organization roles, I have also maintained a long-standing position at Chelsea Piers Connecticut, where I bring my energy and enthusiasm to the Camps and Events Staff and actively contribute to crafting engaging and fun experiences for youth participants. As a dedicated member of the team, I play a pivotal role in planning and coordinating a diverse range of activities, ensuring each event is organized and tailored to meet the skill level and ability of participants across various age groups. From facilitating birthday parties and camps to overseeing sports events, I take pride in fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes teamwork, skill development, and participant engagement. This dynamic role not only allows me to develop and showcase my organizational and interpersonal skills but also reinforces my commitment to creating memorable moments that extend beyond the academic sphere. I find immense joy in contributing to the development of a vibrant and supportive community at Chelsea Piers, connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, leaving a lasting, tangible, and positive impact on participants, and enhancing the overall experience for everyone involved.
In essence, my collegiate journey was a harmonious blend of academics, leadership, and active involvement in a diverse array of extracurricular activities. I am driven by a passion for engineering, a commitment to bettering our community, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge. I strive to make a meaningful impact in the ever-evolving field of electrical engineering and beyond. Now, I work full-time at General Dynamics Electric Boat as a Systems Engineer.
